CJ to attend Seventh Seminar of Senior Judges of Cross-Strait and Hong Kong and Macao

The following is issued on behalf of the Judiciary:

     Chief Justice Andrew Cheung Kui-nung, Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal, will lead a Judiciary delegation to Macao tomorrow (September 20) to attend the Seventh Seminar of Senior Judges of Cross-Strait and Hong Kong and Macao.

     Also attending the seminar will be Mr Justice Jeremy Poon Shiu-chor, Chief Judge of the High Court; Madam Justice Carlye Chu Fun-ling, Vice-President of the Court of Appeal of the High Court; Mr Justice Godfrey Lam Wan-ho, Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of the High Court; and Madam Justice Queeny Au-Yeung Kwai-yue, Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court.

     The seminar is a regular exchange forum among the judicial sectors of the Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. It has been held every two years since 2011. The theme for this year is "Justice and Efficiency".

     The Judiciary delegation will return to Hong Kong on Friday afternoon (September 22). During Chief Justice Cheung's absence from Hong Kong, Mr Justice Joseph Paul Fok, Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal, will be the Acting Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal.
