***************************************************************

The Civil Service Bureau's four-day roving recruitment talks in Shanghai and Beijing concluded successfully today (September 15), attracting an online and in-person participation of over 2 000 Hong Kong people who are interested in applying for and learning more about civil service posts in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government.

Five recruitment talks on the Administrative Officer (AO) and Executive Officer (EO) grades were held at the Office of the HKSAR Government in Beijing, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai, Peking University, Tsinghua University and Fudan University respectively. Most of the attendees were university students with strong interest in civil service posts and they were keen to ask questions.

In particular, the Civil Service Bureau had arranged several serving AO and EO colleagues who graduated from universities in Beijing and Shanghai to share their work experience and encourage fellow students to join the civil service. The Director of General Grades of the Civil Service Bureau, Mr Hermes Chan, and the Principal Assistant Secretary for the Civil Service (Administrative Service), Ms Yen Pun, also introduced the entry requirements, training programmes, examination and interview arrangements, and tips on preparing for the examinations of the AO and EO grades at the talks.

The joint recruitment exercise for appointment as AO, EOII and four other civil service graduate posts will be open for applications starting from tomorrow (September 16). Eligible applicants are advised to seize the opportunity. For details, please visit the CSB's press release.
