Murder and suicide in Kwai Chung

     Police are investigating a murder and suicide case in Kwai Chung yesterday (September 6) in which a 77-year-old man and a 26-year-old man died.

     At about 1.15pm yesterday, Police found a male body inside a travel bag while investigating a missing person case in a unit of an industrial building on Kin Hong Street in Kwai Chung. Sustaining no superficial injury, the 77-year-old man was certified dead at scene.

     At about 1.35pm on the same day, Police received a report from a pedestrian that a man was lying outside Fu Ching House, Tai Wo Hau Estate. He was suspected to have fallen from height.
 
     Police officers sped to the scene. The 26-year-old man was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital in unconscious state and later certified dead at 2.01pm on the same day.

     Initial investigation revealed that the 26-year-old man was suspected to have burgled the unit the 77-year-old man lived in and was believed to have killed the 77-year-old man after he was caught in red-handed.

     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the causes of their deaths.

     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Kwai Tsing District is underway. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3661 2937.
