HYAB welcomes Scout Association of Hong Kong members' return to Hong Kong
*************************************************************************
The Scout Association of Hong Kong (SAHK) decided earlier to make arrangements for members participating in the World Scout Jamboree held at Saemangeum, Korea, to be relocated to a safe location and return to Hong Kong as early as possible. The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (HYAB) today (August 9) noted that members are arriving Hong Kong today in groups.

In response to the decision of the SAHK to return to Hong Kong early, the HYAB immediately contacted the SAHK, the Immigration Department and the relevant airline to allow members of the SAHK to return to Hong Kong smoothly. The HYAB is grateful for assistance offered by all relevant departments and organisations, including the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Gwangju, for arranging transportation to the airport for members.

As Typhoon Khanun is approaching Korea and the local weather is expected to deteriorate rapidly, the HYAB has been keeping close contact with the SAHK and noted that the SAHK has implemented relevant measures to ensure the safety of members who stay behind to participate in the remaining events organised by the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
