HYAB's response to media enquiries on participation of Scout Association of Hong Kong in World Scout Jamboree
******************************************************************************************
In response to media enquiries on the participation of the Scout Association of Hong Kong (SAHK) in the World Scout Jamboree held from August 1 to 12 at Saemangeum, Korea, the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (HYAB) gave the following response today (August 6):

The Government is deeply concerned about the health and safety of members of the SAHK participating in the event. In view of the continuous high temperature at the campsite, the HYAB has contacted the SAHK to express concern on the health and safety of participating members. The HYAB noted that the SAHK has been keeping close contact and communication with the South Korean Government, the World Organization of the Scout Movement, the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Gwangju and the Immigration Department. The SAHK has also continued to provide latest information on activities of its delegation and corresponding measures taken by the organiser through social media platforms. The HYAB requested the SAHK to closely monitor the situation, taking the health and safety of young members as the prime consideration.
