Hong Kong Housing Authority develops Project Information Management and Analytics Platform (HA-PIMAP) to enhance public housing projects efficiency (with photos/video)
******************************************************************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:

The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) has developed the Project Information Management and Analytics Platform (HA-PIMAP), a cloud-based digital management platform, to enhance connectivity and integrate information from different stages of its public housing projects and to boost management efficiency.

The HA-PIMAP is currently being applied in individual public housing projects as a pilot scheme. It will be more widely used in the future.

The Deputy Director of Housing (Development and Construction), Mr Stephen Leung, introduced the platform today (July 14) at a media briefing. "The HA-PIMAP uses Digital Twin technology with 3D digital map as its basic layer to interface with virtual digital models and information of public housing development projects to assist and enhance the decision-making process and uplift management efficiency," he said.

The HA-PIMAP can integrate big data and provides visualisation to various stages of a housing project from planning, design, construction to handover at anywhere. For example, at the planning stage, the 3D model of surrounding developments helps expedite the decision-making process. When designing the blocks, it can analyse the environmental impact nearby to optimise the design and layout of building and domestic flats. During construction stage, it can integrate safety smart site to enhance safety and quality control. Upon handover, it can interface the site data collected from the digital site mobile system to uplift management efficiency.

The HA project team also demonstrated the actual operation of safety smart site in the Yip Wong Road project at the briefing, including using smart helmets to warn workers who enter a hazardous zone. They also demonstrated using a tablet to monitor public housing information through the HA-PIMAP, which helps the project team handle problems as early as possible and strengthen management efficiency.

"To cope with the massive amount of public housing construction, the HA has been embracing innovation and technology to continuously strengthen the safety, efficiency, productivity, and sustainability of public housing development. The HA-PIMAP is a new milestone in the digitalisation of public housing development and construction," said Mr Leung.

He said the HA will continue to expand the development of this platform in the coming years to cover more projects and housing-related data, to unleash potential benefits of data to generate synergies, and promote digital transformation jointly with the construction industry.
