Fatal traffic accident in Ngau Tau Kok

At about 11pm, a public bus driven by a 26-year-old man was travelling along Wai Yip Street towards Mong Kok. When approaching near Kai Fuk Road flyover, it reportedly knocked down the 65-year-old woman.
The woman was trapped under the public bus and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious leg injuries, she was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 11.54pm.
The public bus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
