Hospital Authority announces senior appointment (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesman announced the following senior appointment today (June 29):
 
     Dr Frank Chan will be appointed as the Hospital Chief Executive of Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital, Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Wong Tai Sin Hospital with effect from September 1.
 
     Dr Chan is a specialist in administrative medicine. He is a seasoned senior executive with exposure to various management positions in the HA Head Office. Dr Chan served as the Chief Manager (Integrated Care Programmes) from 2019 to 2021 and steered the service development and clinical programme implementation of various chronic diseases. He took up the current position as the Chief Manager (Service Transformation) in 2021. Besides developing and augmenting the capacity and scope of various Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives, Dr Chan played a significant role in managing various contingency PPP initiatives to support the public healthcare system during the COVID-19 epidemic, including collaboration with private hospitals for inpatient transfer, strategic purchasing of medical post for community isolation facilities and introducing PPP teleconsultation services.
 
     The HA Chairman, Mr Henry Fan, and the Chief Executive, Dr Tony Ko, congratulate Dr Chan on his new appointment and wish him every success in taking up the new role.
