Granting of banking licence to China CITIC Bank Corporation Limited

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced today (June 8) that the Monetary Authority has granted a banking licence to China CITIC Bank Corporation Limited (CNCB) under the Banking Ordinance. CNCB is incorporated in the People's Republic of China. The granting of this banking licence takes effect today (June 8, 2023).
After the granting of a banking licence to CNCB, the number of licensed banks in Hong Kong is 153.
