London ETO supports opening screening of Odyssey 2023 film festival (with photos)

     The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London (London ETO) and Create Hong Kong supported the opening screening and reception of Odyssey 2023 film festival held at the Battersea Power Station, London on May 26 (London time). 

     Odyssey film festival is an annual event presented by UK-China Film Collab, a non-profit organisation based in the United Kingdom (UK), showcasing over 60 films via cinemas and online platform, as well as other programmes including discussion panels, Q&As and Masterclasses with creative talents. Hong Kong is selected as the "City of Honour" of Odyssey 2023 film festival, and Hong Kong film, "Finding Bliss: Fire and Ice - The Director's Cut", starring Josie Ho and co-directed by Kim Chan and Dee Lam, was featured as the opening film. At the post-opening screening Q&A session, Josie Ho and Kim Chan shared their experience in international film productions and interacted with local audience. 

     Addressing the audience in his welcoming remarks, the Director-General of the London ETO, Mr Gilford Law, said, "We are glad to witness that Hong Kong films are supported by devoted audiences around the globe. From exhilarating action films to thought-provoking documentaries, the film industry in Hong Kong is celebrated for its versatility, ensuring a captivating cinematic experience on different good Hong Kong stories for all. Hong Kong would continue to achieve artistic and cultural excellence, affirming its role as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange as supported by the National 14th Five-Year Plan."
