United Christian Hospital made announcement regarding fire incident at Yung Fung Shee Memorial Centre

The spokesperson for United Christian Hospital (UCH) made the following announcement today (May 18) regarding a fire incident at the Yung Fung Shee Memorial Centre (YFSMC):
Smoke and small fire were found at an exhaust fan in the toilet located on the ground floor of YFSMC at around 9am today. It affected some of the services under the operation of UCH. More than 200 patients and staff were evacuated in a safe and orderly manner under the guidance of firemen. Upon the fire being put out by firemen and thorough safety inspection completed, on site staff assisted all patients to return to the centre safely at around 10am to continue receiving services. The hospital thanked all patients and staff for their understanding and co-operation.
As the location where the fire broke out is under the administration of the Department of Health (DH), UCH has liaised with the DH to follow up accordingly. UCH has also reported the incident to the Hospital Authority Head Office through the Advanced Incident Reporting System.
