DGCA visits Guangzhou (with photos)

     The Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Mr Victor Liu, visited Guangzhou on May 10 and 11 and paid courtesy calls on counterpart units to conduct exchanges on the latest developments in civil aviation and various other fields, and to further reinforce close co-operation with the counterparts.

     During his visit to Guangzhou, Mr Liu called on the Director-General of the Central and Southern Regional Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Mr Ma Bing; the Director-General of the Middle-South Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau of the CAAC, Mr Nie Jianxiong; the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Nanhai Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China (PRC), Mr Li Zhiqiang; and the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport of the PRC, Mr Zhang Yongqiang. Mr Liu exchanged views with them on various topics, including aviation development in the Greater Bay Area, air traffic management and collaboration, as well as aeronautical search and rescue co-operation. They also looked into ways to foster closer co-operation to grasp the opportunities presented by the National 14th Five-Year Plan, with an aim to jointly promote the high-quality development of the civil aviation industry.

     Accompanying Mr Liu to Guangzhou were the Assistant Director-General of Civil Aviation (Flight Standards), Miss Clara Wong, and the Assistant Director-General of Civil Aviation (Air Traffic Management), Mr Tommy Au Yeung.

     Mr Liu will return to Hong Kong tonight (May 11).
