Cluster of COVID-19 cases in North Lantau Hospital

The spokesperson for North Lantau Hospital (NLTH) made the following announcement today (May 9):
Seven patients (aged 40 to 84) in an extended care ward of NLTH have been presenting with fever or respiratory symptoms and have tested positive for COVID-19 since April 29.
One patient has recovered and was discharged, while the other patients are in stable condition and are being treated in isolation. Admission and visiting arrangements for the ward concerned have been suspended. Thorough cleaning and disinfection measures have been conducted in the ward concerned, while infection control measures have been enhanced.
The hospital will continue to closely monitor the situation of the patients. The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up.
