SLW to visit Beijing

     The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Chris Sun, will depart for Beijing tomorrow afternoon (May 7). The Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Ms Alice Lau, and representatives of the Social Welfare Department and the Labour Department will also join the visit.
     While in Beijing, Mr Sun will call on the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Commerce and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council. He will also meet with the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the China Enterprise Confederation and the China Disabled Persons' Federation. In addition, Mr Sun and the delegation will visit elderly and child care facilities, keep abreast of how local recruitment platform works, and meet with university students in Beijing.
     Mr Sun will return to Hong Kong on May 10 evening. In his absence, the Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Ho Kai-ming, will be the Acting Secretary for Labour and Welfare.
