Draft Ngau Chi Wan Outline Zoning Plan approved
***********************************************
     The Chief Executive in Council has approved the draft Ngau Chi Wan Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

     "The approved OZP provides a statutory land use planning framework to guide the development and redevelopment within the Ngau Chi Wan area," a spokesperson for the Town Planning Board said today (May 5).

     The planning scheme area, covering about 193 hectares, is located in Kowloon East within Wong Tai Sin District. It is bounded by Kowloon Peak and Middle Hill to the east, Tate's Cairn to the north, New Clear Water Bay Road and Kwun Tong Road to the south, and Hammer Hill Road and Po Kong Village Road to the west.

     The approved OZP has incorporated amendments shown on the draft Ngau Chi Wan OZP No. S/K12/17, which mainly involve the following items:

(i) rezoning of two sites in Ngau Chi Wan Village abutting Wing Ting Road from "Residential (Group B)" ("R(B)"), "Government, Institution or Community" ("G/IC"), "Open Space" ("O"), "Village Type Development" and areas shown as 'Road' to "Residential (Group A)1" for public housing development with provision of government, institution or community facilities;

(ii) rezoning of two pieces of land abutting Wing Ting Road and Lung Cheung Road from "R(B)", "G/IC" and an area shown as 'Road' to "O" for public open space; and

(iii) rezoning of a strip of land along Lung Cheung Road from "G/IC" to an area shown as 'Road' to reflect the existing and proposed alignment of road and pavement.

     Opportunity is also taken to amend the Notes and Explanatory Statement of the OZP to reflect the above amendments and to update the general information of various land use zonings and the planning circumstances, where appropriate.

     The approved Ngau Chi Wan OZP No. S/K12/18 is available for public inspection during office hours at (i) the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, (ii) the Planning Enquiry Counters, (iii) the Kowloon District Planning Office and (iv) the Wong Tai Sin District Office.

     Copies of the approved OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed on the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
