Communications Authority press release
**************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Communications Authority:

This press release summarises the decisions of the Communications Authority (CA) following its 124th meeting.

CA approves changes in shareholding structure of Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Company Limited (CRHK)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The CA has approved an application by CRHK for changes in its shareholding structure arising from the disposal of 3.7 per cent shares in CRHK held by a minority shareholder to the company's Chief Executive Officer, Ms Rita Chan.

In approving the application, the CA is satisfied that the shareholding changes will not give rise to regulatory concerns and that CRHK will continue to comply with various applicable regulatory requirements under the Telecommunications Ordinance (Cap. 106) and its sound broadcasting licence, and that it will be able to honour the investment and programming commitments it had made under its licence upon completion of the shareholding changes.

CA approves changes in shareholding structure of PCCW Media Limited (PCCW Media)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The CA has approved an application by PCCW Media for changes in its shareholding structure necessitated by changes in shareholdings of HKT Limited (HKT) controlled by CAS Holding No. 1 Limited (CAS Holding), a direct wholly-owned subsidiary of PCCW Limited (PCCW).

According to PCCW Media, the shareholding changes arose from the issuance or distribution of new shares by HKT, and as a result of PCCW's acquisition of HKT shares in the market. Upon completion of the changes in the shareholding structure of PCCW Media, PCCW indirectly holds 52.29 per cent of HKT shares through its shareholdings in CAS Holding and remains the ultimate voting controller of PCCW Media's voting shares held by HKT.

In approving the application, the CA is satisfied that PCCW Media will continue to comply with all applicable regulatory requirements under the Broadcasting Ordinance (Cap. 562) and its domestic pay television programme service licence after completion of the shareholding changes.

Renewal of "other licensable television programme service" licence
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The CA has approved the application by Showers of Blessing Evangelistic Ministry (Hong Kong) Limited for renewal of its "other licensable television programme service" licence for the provision of television programme services to hotel rooms in Hong Kong. The period of validity of the licence is three years from June 1, 2024, to May 31, 2027 (both dates inclusive).
