HAD presents "Happy Hong Kong" Gourmet Marketplaces in April, May and June

     The Home Affairs Department (HAD) announced today (April 24) the hosting of three "Happy Hong Kong" Gourmet Marketplaces in April, May and June on Hong Kong Island, in the New Territories and in Kowloon. There are different themes for the three Marketplaces which also include youth elements, cooking demonstrations, performances and children playgrounds to bring about pleasurable gourmet experiences for members of the public. Admission is free for the three Gourmet Marketplaces. While the first Marketplace requires admission tickets, the other two Marketplaces do not require admission tickets.
      
     The first "Happy Hong Kong" Gourmet Marketplace will take place at Hall 3G of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai on April 29 and 30, featuring international delicacies, Chinese cuisines and local flavours. Members of the public may obtain admission tickets and join the event for free. The Home Affairs Enquiry Centres across 18 districts listed in the Annex will start to distribute free tickets from 8am on April 26. Each person may collect up to two tickets while stocks last. The HAD has reserved some admission tickets for distribution at the venue when the Marketplace takes place.
      
     The second "Happy Hong Kong" Gourmet Marketplace will take place on May 6 and 7 at the Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza and Sha Tin Park. The Marketplace featuring Chinese cuisines and local flavours is free for entry and does not require admission tickets.
      
     The third "Happy Hong Kong" Gourmet Marketplace will be held on June 3 and 4 at the harbour-front VESSEL, Kwun Tong. Under the theme of Asian cuisines plus wine and dine, the event is free for entry and does not require admission tickets.
      
     The Financial Secretary announced in the 2023-24 Budget the launch of the "Happy Hong Kong" Campaign for the general public with focuses on activities relating to gourmet experiences, fun amusements and exciting ambience. One of the highlights is the launch of Gourmet Marketplaces in various locations by the HAD for members of the public to enjoy leisure during weekends.
