Transcript of remarks by CS at media session in Foshan during four-day visit to GBA of HKSAR Government and LegCo delegation led by CE (with photos/video)
******************************************************************************************
The delegation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Legislative Council led by the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, continued their trip today (April 22). Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki, at a media session in Foshan this evening:

Reporter: Mr Chan, you have met some young people working at Tencent. What did they tell you, and will the Government modify or expand the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme to encourage more Hong Kong young people to work on the Mainland?

Chief Secretary for Administration: I am very happy that the Tencent Company has recruited more than 60 young people from Hong Kong through this scheme. I think this programme is very useful to them and I had the chance to talk with them this afternoon. I am happy to note that they are very, very happy to work in Shenzhen. They told me that they had learnt a lot, especially in the high-tech area. I invited them to come back to Hong Kong when they have holidays and to talk to our young people about the experience in Hong Kong. One of the very good points is that the company is considering to recruit the participants of the Strive and Rise Programme in the future at their suitable age. They are more than willing to recruit them to join the company. I think this is very good news for Hong Kong, so that Hong Kong people will have more chance to work in Shenzhen. This is, to me, is very, very encouraging.
