The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (April 20) urged the public to stop using six models of Panasonic and KDK dehumidifiers and contact Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd. for arranging a free on-site replacement.
 
     The six models of dehumidifiers concerned are as follows (see photos of the dehumidifiers in annex):

     According to the information provided by the supplier, in a very rare circumstance when foreign chemical compounds are absorbed in the desiccant rotor, and when fan speed decreases abnormally, the aforesaid models of dehumidifiers may have safety risk of ignition around the rotor.
 
     The public can visit the website of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd. (customer.shunhinggroup.com/420reg) or call the service hotline of the company at 2406 5733 (from 9am to 6pm, Mondays to Fridays) to confirm whether their dehumidifiers are affected and arrange a free on-site replacement.
