Senior appointment at Hong Kong Monetary Authority

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (April 18) that the Financial Secretary, on the advice of the Governance Sub-Committee of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, has approved the appointment of Mr Kenneth Hui as the Executive Director (External) with effect from April 24, 2023. Mr Hui will succeed Mr Darryl Chan who was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive with effect from November 1, 2022.
Mr Hui joined the HKMA as Senior Manager (Market Development) in February 2017 and has taken up his current role of Head (Market Development) since March 2020 with responsibilities in the formulation and implementation of various initiatives to promote the development of Hong Kong's financial sector. On appointment as the Executive Director (External), Mr Hui will be responsible for promoting the development of Hong Kong as an international financial centre, advancing Mainland-Hong Kong financial co-operation, and overseeing the HKMA's participation in international forums and organisations.
