I am confident that, by virtue of Dr Chan's strong leadership as well as the extensive expertise and experience of members from different fields and professions, the ACGE will continue to offer to the bureau constructive advice from multiple perspectives on planning the long-term development of gifted education in Hong Kong so that multi-skilled talents can be nurtured for the development of our city and country."

Dr Choi expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Chairman, Dr Pang Yiu-kai. She said, "Dr Pang has served as the Chairman of the ACGE since its establishment in April 2017. Under his exemplary leadership, the ACGE has offered invaluable recommendations to the bureau on the policies and development of gifted education over the years, such as introducing the Off-school Advanced Learning Programmes funded by the Gifted Education Fund and strengthening the provision of gifted student services by the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education. I would like to pay tribute to Dr Pang for his excellent chairmanship and enthusiasm."

She also thanked the outgoing members, Sister Anita Kwok Ming-ying, Ms Cecilia Lee Sau-wai, Ms Carrie Leung Ka-lai and Dr John Tan Kang, for their invaluable contribution during their tenure.

Dr Choi commended the ACGE for its effort in advancing gifted education in Hong Kong. She said, "To step up the promotion of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) education in primary and secondary schools, we are going to inject an additional $600 million into the Gifted Education Fund for it to generate additional investment returns per annum and to strengthen support for the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education.
