Hospital Authority announces senior appointment (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority.

     The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesman announced the following senior appointment today (March 23):
 
     Dr Bonnie Siu will be appointed as Hospital Chief Executive of Castle Peak Hospital (CPH) and Siu Lam Hospital with effect from June 1, succeeding Dr Lam Ming upon his retirement.

     Dr Siu is a specialist in psychiatry by background. Being a seasoned psychiatric clinician, she is currently the Chief of Service of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Department of Forensic Psychiatry and Department of Old Age Psychiatry of CPH. She has rich experience in both hospital operations and management. She is also experienced in collaborating with external organisations on service development and enhancement. Dr Siu has been particularly devoted to the service enhancement of the Department of Forensic Psychiatry of CPH, which provides territory-wide forensic psychiatric services for Hong Kong, in collaboration with the Correctional Services Department, Department of Health, Immigration Department and law-enforcing agencies. Through the Institute of Mental Health of CPH, Dr Siu is dedicated to the development of public educational programmes on mental health. She played a vital role in the establishment of "Mind Space", the first Mental Health Experience Museum in Hong Kong for the promotion of community mental well-being.
 
     The HA Chairman, Mr Henry Fan, and the Chief Executive, Dr Tony Ko, congratulate Dr Siu on her new appointment and wish her every success in taking up the new role. Mr Fan and Dr Ko also expressed their appreciation to Dr Lam Ming for his dedicated service over the years and wish him a happy retirement.
