Japanese agricultural and livestock products exporter opens food factory in Hong Kong (with photos)
******************************************************************************************
A Japanese agricultural and livestock products exporter, ZEN-NOH International Corporation, opened a food factory in Hong Kong today (March 17) that produces processed egg products to meet the growing demand for egg dishes from local sushi chains and restaurants.

The new food factory is located in Kwai Chung and occupies 4 000 square feet. It mainly produces various processed Japanese egg products, such as grilled eggs, hot spring eggs, steamed egg custard, egg sandwiches, etc, according to the Managing Director of ZEN-NOH International Hong Kong Food Limited, Mr Michihiro Kanetsuki.

He said, "Hong Kong is the second largest market after Mainland China in the world for exported Japanese agricultural and livestock products. More than 99 per cent of exported Japanese eggs are sent to Hong Kong. In order to meet the huge demand for our processed fresh egg products from local sushi chains and restaurants, we decided to open a local food factory to ensure the freshness of our processed Japanese egg products."

He added, "It is important for us to maintain high quality of our products for the local market. We listen to our Hong Kong customers, discuss solutions, and make proposals. With the new food factory in the city, we can produce different processed egg products that suit individual restaurants' needs. We will also explore the possibility to export our products to Shenzhen and Guangzhou."

The Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Dr Jimmy Chiang, said, "We are happy to see ZEN-NOH's commitment to providing high-quality Japanese egg products to customers in Hong Kong. The Japanese food and beverage community in Hong Kong is vibrant. Together with the city's free port status and well-established logistics and transportation network, it is the ideal place for ZEN-NOH to expand in the city."
