Murder and burglary in Kwai Chung

     Police are investigating a murder and burglary case in Kwai Chung last night (March 14) in which a 63-year-old woman died.
 
     About 7.40pm yesterday, Police received a report that a 63-year-old woman was found collapsed in a unit on 15 Kwai Yi Road. The unit was suspected to be ransacked and burgled.
 
     Police officers sped to the scene and found the 63-year-old woman sustaining head injuries and lying unconsciously in the living room. She was certified dead at scene.
 
     Initial investigation revealed that the deceased had been suspectedly attacked by a man with a crowbar, and the man fled away afterwards. Signs of ransacking were detected in the unit and the total loss in property is still under estimation.
 
     A crowbar in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene.
 
     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
 
     Active investigation by the Regional Crime Unit of New Territories South is underway.
