Fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Castle Peak today (March 4) in which a 68-year-old male pedestrian died.

     At about 5am, a taxi driven by a 66 year-old man was travelling along Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road towards Yau Oi Estate. When approaching the junction with Tuen Hop Street, it reportedly knocked down the 68-year-old male pedestrian.

     Sustaining multiple injuries, the male pedestrian was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 5.44am.

     The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
