HKSAR Government welcomes lifting of restrictions imposed by Japanese and Korean authorities on Hong Kong passenger flights
******************************************************************************************
The Japanese authorities have since the end of December last year started restricting the extent of the increase in the frequency of passenger flights departing from Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government noted that the relevant restriction will be lifted starting from March 1. On the other hand, the Korean authority has imposed restriction on passenger flights from Hong Kong from January 10 to end-February this year. The Government noted that the relevant restriction will be lifted starting from March 1 as scheduled. The HKSAR Government welcomes the development.

The HKSAR Government has been liaising with the Japanese and Korean authorities, and seriously requesting them to rescind all unreasonable restrictions targeting Hong Kong flights. The HKSAR Government believes that the lifting of the relevant restrictions by the Japanese and Korean authorities can bring more convenience to travellers and help speed up the recovery of Hong Kong's aviation industry.
