About 1 000 students build spectacular display for Hong Kong Flower Show (with photos)
**************************************************************************************
About 1 000 students from 32 kindergartens, primary, secondary, and special schools joined the activity Jockey Club Mosaiculture Display by Students at Victoria Park today (February 25). Under the guidance of some 120 green volunteers, the students worked together to put on a spectacular horticultural display, "Midsummer Jubilation", for the upcoming Hong Kong Flower Show.

The parterre is adorned with a wonderful mosaic of about 40 000 colourful flowers and plants of various species including kalanchoes, carnations, pansies, lavender, myosotis, chrysanthemums and more.

Against the backdrop of a blue sky, green ocean and tranquil beach, the parterre features various adorable plant sculptures: birds are flying freely in the sky while dolphins are playing happily in the waves. There are also a host of sea creatures including seahorses, whales and octopuses swimming in the sea. Basking on the beach are sea turtles, hermit crabs, coral clams and more.

Visitors can enjoy the display closely and take photos with the plant sculptures. In the evening, the display is enhanced with light and sound effects so that the beauty can be showcased day and night.

This year's flower show will be held in Victoria Park for 10 days from March 10 to 19 from 9am to 9pm daily, featuring the gorgeously and uniquely grown hydrangea as its theme flower, with "Bliss in Bloom" as the theme of the show.

For enquiries, please call 2601 8260 or visit the flower show webpage www.hkflowershow.hk/en/hkfs/2023/index.html.

The flower show is organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust is supporting the flower show for the 11th consecutive year and has been the major sponsor of the flower show since 2014.
