Judicial appointment

The Judiciary today (February 24) announced the appointment of Miss Vienne Luk Wai-nga as a Permanent Magistrate. The appointment is made by the Chief Executive on the recommendation of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission. It will take effect on February 27, 2023.
The biographical note of Miss Luk is as follows:
Miss Luk was born in Hong Kong. She obtained an LL.B. and a P.C.LL., both from the University of Hong Kong, in 2006 and 2007 respectively. She was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 2009. She joined the Department of Justice as a Government Counsel in 2009 and was promoted to Senior Government Counsel in 2017.
