Fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui

At about 11.20am, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 74-year-old man was travelling along Sui Wan Road towards Tung Kok Wai. When departing from a PLB stop at above location, it reportedly knocked down the 85-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining leg injuries, the woman was rushed to North District Hospital in conscious state. She was later transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital and was certified dead at 2.48pm on the same day.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
