Labour Department brings prosecutions regarding toppled gate fatal accident at Yaumatei Maternal and Child Health Centre

At the time of the accident, a female security guard while working at the entrance of the MCHC was pressed by a toppled gate and was later certified dead in hospital. Having consulted the Department of Justice, the LD has initiated a total of five prosecutions against the relevant occupiers and employers under the occupational safety and health legislation.
The LD's spokesman said, "The LD will not tolerate illegal acts, and will strictly enforce the law and do its utmost to protect the occupational safety and health of employees."
