SHYA to visit Singapore

     The Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Miss Alice Mak, will depart for an official visit to Singapore tomorrow (February 16) to learn about its local community engagement work and explore opportunities for youth exchanges between Singapore and Hong Kong. The Director of Home Affairs, Mrs Alice Cheung, will join the visit.

     During Miss Mak's visit to Singapore, she will call on the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and visit the People's Association, the Community Development Council and the Community Club to understand the work and experience of local youth services, community connections and district building.

     Moreover, Miss Mak will lead YDC Youth Ambassadors who are on exchanges in Singapore to visit the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Singapore and attend other youth exchange activities, including meeting with Hong Kong young people working in Singapore. This exchange activity for Youth Ambassadors is the first international youth exchange programme organised by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau after the gradual resumption of travel to overseas with quarantine exemption.

     â€‹Miss Mak will return to Hong Kong on February 19. During her absence, the Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Mr Clarence Leung, will act as the Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs.
