Fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan this morning (February 14) in which a 42-year-old non-ethnic Chinese man died.

     At 6.51am, a motorcycle driven by the 42-year-old man was travelling along Wo Yi Hop Road towards Tsuen Wan, while a taxi driven by a 66-year-old man was travelling along Wo Yi Hop Road towards Lei Muk Shue Estate. When approaching near 308 Wo Yi Hop Road, the taxi reportedly turned right and dashed to the opposite lane. It suspectedly failed to brake in time and rammed into the motorcycle.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the motorcyclist was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 7.28am.

     The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
