Out-patient clinic service arrangements for Lunar New Year holidays
*******************************************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) today (January 19) announced that 14 general out-patient clinics (GOPCs) and the 18 Chinese Medicine Clinics cum Training and Research Centres (CMCTRs) will provide services during Lunar New Year holidays (January 23 to 25) to address the needs of patients.

An HA spokesperson said, "Many patients, especially those with chronic diseases, need to seek medical consultation amid the cold weather in recent days. To assist patients in need, the HA has arranged some outpatient clinics to continue providing services during the Lunar New Year holidays. It is also hoped to reduce the number of patients with mild illnesses seeking medical treatment in accident and emergency (A&E) departments, so as to alleviate the pressure on the A&E services."

Please refer to Annex I for the list of 14 GOPCs providing services during the Lunar New Year holidays and their service hours. Patients seeking consultation may make an advance booking for an appointment either through the telephone appointment system or the "Book GOPC" function of the "HA Go" mobile application.

In addition, the 18 CMCTRs will arrange special sessions to provide Chinese medicine general consultation services (acupuncture, bone-setting/Tui-na and COVID-19 rehabilitation services are not included) during the Lunar New Year holidays. Patients seeking consultation may make an advance booking for an appointment either through the telephone or the "18 CM Clinics" mobile application (applicable to patients who have registered for 18 CMCTRs service). Please refer to Annex II for the CMCTRs list and their service hours or refer to the most updated information on Chinese Medicine services through the hyperlink: cmk.ha.org.hk/zh-cht/services/notice/ChineseNewYearHoliday.

Patients with mild symptoms could also consult private doctors. Please refer to the information on private doctors who provide services during the holidays through the hyperlink: www.pcdirectory.gov.hk.

The seven HA Designated Clinics for COVID-19 confirmed cases and tele-consultation services will continue to operate during the public holidays to support confirmed patients in the community, especially high-risk patients, requiring medical advice and treatment to soothe their symptoms. If confirmed patients have any medical-related enquiries, they may call the HA support hotline at 1836 115. They can also consult those private doctors who can prescribe COVID-19 oral drugs.
