Hospital Authority resumes some General Out-patient Clinic services
***************************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesman announced today (January 14) that in response to the epidemic developments and service demand, 11 General Out-patient Clinics (GOPCs) will resume some earlier suspended services, including the Saturday, Sunday, Public Holiday and evening clinic services from next Monday (January 16) (Annex).

The HA spokesman said, "Taking into consideration of decreasing confirmed case number and the demand for GOPC services from members of the public, after reviewing the operational situation, the HA has decided to resume some earlier suspended GOPCs services so as to provide appropriate treatment to patients in need."

The existing seven HA Designated Clinics for COVID-19 confirmed cases and tele-consultations services will continue to support confirmed patients in the community, especially high risk patients (including the elderly aged 70 or above, children aged 5 or below, women at 28 or more weeks of pregnancy, and immunocompromised patients). Patients and their family members or carers can make an appointment with a designated clinic for an in-person consultation by calling the selected designated clinic during the booking and service hours or using the "Book Tele/DC" function on the HA's one-stop mobile app "HA Go" to book an appointment for a designated clinic or tele-consultation service. To enhance the support to the high-risk COVID-19 patients and prevent disease progression, the designated clinics have reserved more than half of quotas to the high-risk patients, who can book an appointment through the "Care Booking Line". If confirmed patients have enquiries on medical care, they may call the HA support hotline 1836 115.

In addition, confirmed patients can also attend private doctors for the prescription of COVID-19 oral drugs. Please refer to the list of private doctors through the hyperlink: www.coronavirus.gov.hk/pdf/tp_pd_antiviral.pdf.

The spokesman added that the HA will continue to closely monitor the epidemic situation and service demand, in order to resume more suspended services in accordance to operational situation.
