Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum last night (January 5) in which a 91-year-old man died.

     At about 9.20pm, a taxi driven by a 54-year-old man was travelling along Chui Tin Street towards Lung Hang Estate. When approaching 2 Chui Tin Street, it reportedly knocked down the 91-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Prince Wales Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.30pm.

     The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

      Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
