     The Government announced today (December 22) that Mr Tony Yau Kwok-ting, Principal Government Engineer, will take up the post of Director of Water Supplies on January 4, 2023, when Mr Lo Kwok-wah commences his pre-retirement leave.

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mrs Ingrid Yeung, said, "Mr Yau has proven leadership and management skills, and profound professional knowledge. I am confident that he will be able to lead the Water Supplies Department to meet the challenges ahead and continue to deliver quality service to the community."
 
     On the retirement of Mr Lo, Mrs Yeung said, "Mr Lo has served with dedication and professionalism in the civil service throughout the past 34 years. As Director of Water Supplies, Mr Lo has led the department to face many challenges and to excel in the provision of reliable, adequate and quality water service. I wish him a fulfilling and happy retirement."
 
     Brief biographical notes of the two officers are set out below:
 
Mr Lo Kwok-wah

     Mr Lo joined the Government as Assistant Engineer in September 1988. He was promoted to Chief Engineer in September 2010, to Government Engineer in June 2014, and to Principal Government Engineer in June 2016. He was Director of Drainage Services from February 2019 to November 2020 before being appointed as Director of Water Supplies in November 2020.

     Mr Yau joined the Government as Engineer in October 1998. He was promoted to Chief Engineer in October 2017, to Government Engineer in July 2019, and to Principal Government Engineer in June 2021.
