Fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City happened yesterday (December 5), in which a 47-year-old non-ethnic Chinese man died.

     At 7.57pm, a taxi driven by an 80-year-old man was travelling along To Kwa Wan Road eastbound. When approaching the junction of San Shan Road, it reportedly collided with a bicycle, the bicycle then rammed into a medium goods vehicle parked on the roadside.

     Sustaining multiple injuries, the 47-year-old male cyclist was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 6.57am today (December 6).

     The taxi driver felt unwell and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in conscious state. He was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
