LCSD launches free online programme "Composer 101 - Music Café"

The programme is composed of 10 episodes, featuring 10 classical composers of different periods, namely J.S. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Rossini, Chopin, Wagner, Johann Strauss II, Tchaikovsky, Mahler and Satie. In the episodes, Lai not only shares interesting anecdotes about these composers but also introduces one iconic music piece from each of them, just like taking a sip of coffee and having snacks, allowing audiences to experience composers' creative inspiration and motivation.
Familiar to music lovers as the host of RTHK Radio 4's fine music programmes, Lai is committed to promoting classical music, and has organised and produced numerous classical music programmes and cultural events over the years. He is active in music education, and has joined numerous art groups and organisations for project planning and promotion, including the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and the Hong Kong Arts Festival. Lai has also participated in various local music education programmes and community outreach activities, serving as a lecturer and host. He is currently a part-time lecturer of the Academy of Music at the Hong Kong Baptist University.
Each episode of the free online programme "Composer 101 - Music Café" runs for approximately seven minutes and is conducted in Cantonese, with Chinese and English subtitles.
