Permanent Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism tests positive for COVID-19

     A spokesman for the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (CSTB) said today (November 29) that the Permanent Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Joe Wong, has tested positive for COVID-19 through a nucleic acid test. He is undergoing isolation in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH).
     
     Mr Wong last went to work last Friday (November 25). He wore masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work, including conducting daily rapid antigen tests. He has no recent travel history.
 
     Mr Wong was earlier confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 in September this year and had fully recovered afterwards.
     
     The CSTB will conduct thorough cleaning and disinfection at the relevant offices, arrange for relevant staff members to undergo COVID-19 tests in accordance with the advice from the CHP of the DH, and continue to implement disease prevention measures vigorously.
