"Pets with Love" Dog Adoption Carnival 2022 to be held this weekend
*****************************************************************************
The "Pets with Love" Dog Adoption Carnival 2022 will be held at The Mills in Tsuen Wan between 11am and 6pm this weekend (December 3 and 4). Admission is free. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

The Carnival is organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD), Cheung Chau Animal Care, HK Saving Cat and Dog Association, Lifelong Animal Protection Charity, Paws United Charity, Society for Abandoned Animals and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The event aims to encourage people who wish to keep pets to adopt abandoned or unclaimed animals, and promote responsible pet ownership.

Members of the public can meet dogs that are up for adoption, and license their dogs or renew the licence at the Carnival. A dog playground, game booths, family workshops, speed sketching services and an educational exhibition, as well as basic vet consultation services, will be available at the Carnival. Participants are welcome to take part with their dogs. However, dogs entering the venue should be licensed (except for dogs to be licensed on the spot), vaccinated against rabies and microchipped. They should also be under proper control.

The AFCD always encourages members of the public who wish to keep pets to adopt animals via animal welfare organisations (AWOs). Upon receiving animals surrendered by owners or stray animals captured and unclaimed, the department will transfer the animals that are assessed by veterinarians as being in good health and suitable for adoption to AWOs for adoption by members of the public. The AFCD will offer free desexing operations for cats, dogs and rabbits adopted via AWOs.

For details of the event, please refer to the event poster (see attachment) or visit the event website: www.petswithlove.com.hk/home_eng.html.
