​Following is the opening remarks by the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Kevin Yeung, at the Fashion Challenges Forum of Fashion Asia Hong Kong 2022 today (November 28):
 
Eric (Chairman of the Hong Kong Design Centre, Professor Eric Yim), Victor (Chairman of the Fashion Asia Steering Committee, Dr Victor Lo), distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
 
     Good morning. It is my great pleasure joining all of you today at the opening of Fashion Challenges Forum of Fashion Asia Hong Kong 2022.
 
     Since its debut in 2016, Fashion Asia Hong Kong has been offering an international forum for fashion knowledge exchange and business collaboration.

     This year, we are happy to welcome over 20 international speakers and moderators from different time zones on the Fashion Challenges Forum in hybrid format, to share with us their insights and innovative ideas.
      
     The "10 Asian Designers to Watch" exhibition is another highlight of Fashion Asia Hong Kong. The exhibition will showcase the cutting-edge capsule collections of 10 of Asia's most exciting fashion designers. The curated exhibition has just been successfully held in Shanghai earlier this month, and will return to Hong Kong in February next year. 
      
     We are pleased to sponsor Fashion Asia Hong Kong since its inception in 2016 through Create Hong Kong. The event has helped promote Hong Kong as a leading fashion hub in Asia and added impetus to Business of Design Week (BODW), Asia's premier annual event enriching design and the creative excellence.
      
     The current-term Government is committed to fostering the cultural development of Hong Kong to expedite its progression into an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange. We will implement a series of initiatives and make every effort to further the development of arts and culture and enhance the ecosystem for the creative industries in Hong Kong.
      
     My heartfelt thanks goes to the Hong Kong Design Centre for organising Fashion Asia Hong Kong 2022 and I would like to express my gratitude to all the speakers for making this year's Fashion Asia Hong Kong more fruitful than ever.
