Hospital Authority releases Medication Safety Bulletin

The Hospital Authority (HA) today (November 25) published the biannual issue of Medication Safety Bulletin (MSB). This issue highlights the initiatives of the HA to ensure the safe use of Warfarin, an oral anticoagulant. Healthcare workers are also reminded to carefully check on the dosage, the patient's International Normalised Ratio, instructions and time when they prescribe and administer Warfarin.
In addition, this latest issue shares the experience of the New Territories West Cluster, highlighting the importance of exercising extra caution when handling combination injections containing different drugs with different doses.
The publication has already been posted on the HA homepage for sharing with healthcare staff. Members of the public are also welcome to browse it at the following link: www.ha.org.hk/msb. MSB is published every six months, in the last week of May and November. The next issue will be published on May 25, 2023.
