DFS tests positive for COVID-19

     A spokesman for the Deputy Financial Secretary's Office said today (November 23) that the Deputy Financial Secretary, Mr Michael Wong, has tested positive for COVID-19 through a polymerase chain reaction-based nucleic acid test. He is undergoing isolation in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health.
      
     Mr Wong last went to work yesterday (November 22). He wore masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work, including conducting rapid antigen tests regularly. He has no recent travel history.
      
     His wife, the Commissioner for Labour, Ms May Chan, will undergo home quarantine in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection. Ms Chan has taken COVID-19 rapid antigen tests regularly with negative results obtained. She also tested negative after conducting a COVID-19 rapid antigen test today.
      
     The spokesman said thorough cleaning and disinfection operations at the office concerned will be conducted and disease prevention measures will continue to be implemented vigorously.
