Adjustment of service hours of DH's designated monkeypox vaccination centre from December 1

     In view of the service demand of the Monkeypox Vaccination Programme for high-risk groups, the Department of Health (DH) today (November 22) announced that operating hours of the designated monkeypox vaccination centre situated at 3/F, Yau Ma Tei Jockey Club Polyclinic, 145 Battery Street, Yau Ma Tei, will be adjusted to 9am to 5.45pm from Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturday, except public holidays, with effect from December 1.

     Another designated monkeypox vaccination centre situated at 7/F, Tang Chi Ngong Specialist Clinic, 284 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, will continue its service hours in the evening from 5.30pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday except public holidays.

     Individuals under the high-risk target group can continue to make a booking by email (mpv_booking@dh.gov.hk), or call the booking line 2547 1900 during office hours. 

     Apart from that, the services of other monkeypox vaccination service venues also remain unchanged, including the DH's six Social Hygiene Service Clinics (SocHS) (namely Wan Chai Male SocHS, Wan Chai Female SocHS, Yau Ma Tei Male SocHS, Yung Fung Shee SocHS, Fanling SocHS and Tuen Mun SocHS), the DH's Integrated Treatment Centre in Kowloon Bay and the Hospital Authority's Special Medical Clinics at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital. Vaccination for clients with high risk sexual practices will be continued.

     The Monkeypox Vaccination Programme for high-risk groups commenced on October 5. High-risk target groups (individuals with high-risk sexual practices, e.g. multiple sexual partners, sex workers, history of sexually transmitted infection within the past 12 months; healthcare workers responsible for the caring of patients with confirmed monkeypox; laboratory personnel working with zoonotic pox viruses; and animal care personnel with high risk of exposure in case of monkeypox occurrence in animals in Hong Kong) can receive monkeypox vaccination on a voluntary basis. As of yesterday (November 21), over 3 800 doses have been administered for the high-risk target groups under the Programme.
