Hongkong Post announced today (November 21) that a special stamp issue and associated philatelic products on the theme of "Miss 13 Dots Comics" will be released for sale on December 6 (Tuesday).

Miss 13 Dots was a renowned Hong Kong girls' comic series created by the acclaimed female comic artist Lee Wai-chun. It has been published since the 1960s and was the first comic series targeting female audiences. Hongkong Post will issue a set of six stamps, two stamp sheetlets and associated philatelic products on the theme of "Miss 13 Dots Comics" to showcase the significance of this celebrated classic.

With unique brushstrokes and profound imagination, coupled with the elements of popular culture, the author created the avant-garde comic series which inspired readers to pursue modernistic lifestyles at that time. The heroine Miss 13 Dots, who is independent, fashionable and righteous, characterised by countless trendy outfits, presents a refreshing image for women, contributing to the prominent position of Miss 13 Dots in Hong Kong comics.

Official first day covers for "Miss 13 Dots Comics" will be put on sale at all post offices from tomorrow (November 22), and on Hongkong Post's online shopping mall ShopThruPost (shopthrupost.hongkongpost.hk). This set of special stamps and associated philatelic products will be on sale at all post offices and ShopThruPost from December 6, while serviced first day covers affixed with the special stamps and collector packs will be available at philatelic offices only.

A hand-back date-stamping service will be provided on December 6 at all post offices for official first day covers/souvenir covers/privately made covers bearing the first day of issue indication and a local address. To observe social distancing and to avoid people gathering at the post offices, collection points will be set up at all post offices on the same day for submission of the covers requesting the hand-back date-stamping service. Customers will be advised of the collection schedule upon acceptance of the covers.

Information about this set of special stamps and associated philatelic products is available on the Hongkong Post Stamps website (stamps.hongkongpost.hk) and in the "ShopThruPost" mobile app.
