Draft Lam Tei and Yick Yuen Outline Zoning Plan approved
********************************************************
The Chief Executive in Council has approved the draft Lam Tei and Yick Yuen Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

"The approved OZP provides a statutory land use planning framework to guide the development and redevelopment within the Lam Tei and Yick Yuen area," a spokesman for the Town Planning Board said today (November 18).

The planning scheme area covers about 474.93 hectares of land in the southwestern part of the New Territories North West. It is bounded by the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area and Yuen Tau Shan in the north, Tan Kwai Tsuen in the northeast, Tai Lam Country Park in the east and southeast, the Tsing Shan Firing Range in the west, and Fu Tai Estate, Tsz Tin Tsuen and Po Tong Ha in the south.

The approved OZP has incorporated amendments shown on the draft Lam Tei and Yick Yuen OZP No. S/TM-LTYY/11, which involve the rezoning of two sites to the north of Hong Po Road from "Residential (Group E)" and "Green Belt" ("GB") to "Residential (Group A)", and a site to the east of the Tsing Shan Firing Range from "GB" to "Government, Institution or Community" for public housing development and supporting infrastructural facilities.

Opportunity is also taken to amend the Notes and Explanatory Statement of the OZP to reflect the above amendments and to update the general information of various land use zonings and the planning circumstances, where appropriate. Technical amendments are also made to the Notes, as appropriate.

The approved Lam Tei and Yick Yuen OZP No. S/TM-LTYY/12 is available for public inspection during office hours at (i) the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, (ii) the Planning Enquiry Counters, (iii) the Tuen Mun and Yuen Long West District Planning Office, (iv) the Tuen Mun District Office and (v) the Tuen Mun Rural Committee.

Copies of the approved OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
