The Social Welfare Department (SWD) today (November 14) alerted members of the public to fraudulent emails purportedly issued by the SWD on health insurance subsidies. Each email provides a hyperlink to a fake SWD website which seeks to obtain the recipient's personal particulars and credit card information.

     The department clarifies that it has no connection with the fraudulent emails and has referred the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation.

     Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the website concerned should contact the Police. For enquiries, please call the SWD's hotline at 2343 2255.
