In the past week, there were 241 COVID-19 patients who reside in residential care homes for the elderly (RCHEs) admitted to hospitals. The number is significantly higher than the 85 and 137 RCHE COVID-19 patients admitted in the first week of November and the last week of October respectively. The Hospital Authority (HA) is very concerned and will closely monitor the situation. The HA will keep close communication with relevant government departments and RCHEs so as to enhance medical support to RCHEs through the outreach teams.

In the fifth wave of the epidemic, there are 82 576 patients who have recovered so far, including 82 199 patients who have been discharged. And since early 2020, there are 94 956 patients who have recovered, including 94 579 patients who have been discharged.

The HA will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
