Housing Authority exhibit showcased at fifth China International Import Expo (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:
 
     The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA), invited by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai (SHETO) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is showcasing its exhibit "Housing for Millions" at the Hong Kong Pavilion of the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE) from November 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The exhibit is one of the exhibits selected by the SHETO out of more than 40 exhibits.
 
     "Housing for Millions" is the HA's exhibit at the roving Urbanism and Architecture Exhibitions for Excellence, organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects in Hangzhou, Beijing, New York, and Hong Kong. It visualises existing public housing estates as a splendid collection according to their years of completion and flat numbers. Visitors walking around the timeline are invited to browse through the vibrant and eventful timeline of public housing development in Hong Kong, encompassing "History", "Design Transformation", "Quality Living" and "Innovations and Technologies". The exhibit not only celebrates the past achievements of the HA, but also explores better housing designs for tomorrow.
 
     An HA spokesman said that the HA is honoured that "Housing for Millions" has been selected to be showcased at the CIIE Hong Kong Pavilion among the many others from the Urbanism and Architecture Exhibitions for Excellence. The HA has been established for almost 50 years. Driven all along by the core values of Caring, Customer-focused, Creative and Committed, the HA is devoted to providing affordable quality housing for families in need. The exhibition provides the HA with the opportunity to introduce the design concept of public housing estates to Mainland and overseas cities.
