Hong Kong film talents shine at Asian Pop-Up Cinema in Chicago (with photos)
****************************************************************************
The Season 15 of Asian Pop-Up Cinema (APUC) in Chicago concluded with the star-studded Hong Kong Cinema showcase, featuring the screenings of Pretty Heart and Septet: The Story of Hong Kong on November 6 (Chicago time).

Joining the screenings was this season's APUC Bright Star Award recipient Jennifer Yu, who is starring in the two closing night films and Far Far Away, which was screened earlier at the APUC.

Also joining the APUC finale event were the director and the producer of Far Far Away, Amos Why and Teresa Kwong; and the director of The First Girl I Loved, Yeung Chiu-hoi.

Earlier, actress Summer Chan attended the film festival in person with the director Kelvin Shum, the screenwriter Kyle Shum and the producer Charlie Wong, to present the world premiere of their work Deliverance to the Chicago audience. Summer Chan was also presented with the Bright Star Award for her role in the film.

The Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York (HKETONY), Ms Candy Nip, said the eight Hong Kong productions this season showcased the creativity and versatility of the city's film talents across different generations. Ms Nip was thrilled to see so many of them flying in from Hong Kong to support the APUC.

"I would also like to thank the APUC and fellow cinema fans. Your enthusiasm gives our film industry the inspiration and energy to go forward in their 'mission creative'," Ms Nip said.

Supported by the HKETONY, the APUC's Hong Kong Cinema series was part of the celebrations for the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
